Eagles Use Late Singles Win to Defeat Limestone, 4-3

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (4-2, 2-0 SAC) clinched its second SAC win in the final singles match, defeating Limestone (3-5, 1-2 SAC), 4-3.

The Eagles used big wins in No. 1, 3, and 6 singles, with Matthew Saunders clinching the match in C-N's favor with a three-set victory despite dropping the first set. Marnix Van Dalen handled the No. 1 singles in straight sets, and Gjorgji Jankulovski put forth a similar effort in the No. 3 singles. Marc Janse, Paul Gayk, and Lars Hordijk dropped competitive matches, with two of the three going to three sets.

In doubles, the Eagles used another solid performance to clinch the point. Marnix Van Dalen and Lars Hordijk earned a hard-fought win in No. 1 doubles, while Marc Janse and Yehor Opanasenko continued their success at the No. 3.
