JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – In its second match of three this week, No. 48 Carson-Newman (8-4, 6-1 SAC) handled UVA-Wise (11-5, 1-5 SAC), 4-0 for its fourth-straight win in South Atlantic Conference play.
"With us playing so well, there's not much to say," head coach Jon Parker said. "I'm very blessed to have this opportunity to coach a fine bunch of young men and women."
The Eagles and the Highland Cavaliers played until the clinch. After taking the doubles point, C-N earned points in No. 1, 3, and 5 singles to end the match.
Marnix Van Dalen earned his 10th win of the season in straight-set fashion, while Gjorgji Jankulovski and Paul Gayk improved their respective marks with wins in Nos. 3 and 5, respectively. By playing until the clinch, Marc Janse, Lars Hordijk, and Matthew Saunders earned some rest before a big match tomorrow.

In doubles, UVA-Wise showed some fight by winning in the No. 2 slot, but C-N took care of business in No. 1 and No. 3 to earn the point. The duo of Marnix Van Dalen and Lars Hordijk continue to impress in conference play, improving their SAC record to 6-1, while Paul Gayk and Gjorgji Jankulovski moved over .500 with their eighth win of the year in No. 3 doubles.
