Carson-Newman Women's Soccer Position Preview: Forwards

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The third and final part of the Carson-Newman women's soccer preview features the Eagles' forwards.

Two seniors, two juniors, a sophomore and four freshmen comprise the nine forwards for the 2015 season.

McWilliams and Julianne Herrity (Donegal, Ireland) are the team's two seniors. McWilliams appeared in nine matches during the 2014 campaign with four starts before an ankle injury cut her season short. She fired five shots but did not record a goal. Herrity is set to make her Carson-Newman debut. Herrity has represented the Republic of Ireland for five years and led her Unveristy of Ulster team to the Women's Soccer Colleges Association of All-Ireland Championship.

Lauren Morelock (Abingdon, Va.) and Nora Logan (Charlotte, N.C.) are the two junior forwards. Morelock has 23 career appearances in the Blue and Orange with one assist to her tally. Logan is coming off her best year as a sophomore when she scored her first two career goals and appeared in 16 matches. Logan scored her first goal of the year at home against Catawba and she also tallied a score against Mars Hill in the Eagles' 4-1 conference win.

Camilla Olsson (Trondheim, Norway) is the lone sophomore striker. She appeared in all 17 games during her freshman campaign and contributed two goals. Olsson's first career goal came in the 3-0 victory over King and she added her second against Mars Hill. She tallied 18 shots during 2014.

Four freshmen are awaiting their Carson-Newman debuts. Gabriella Dias (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), Hannah Henry (Signal Mountain, Tenn.), Bailey Williams (Powell, Tenn.) and Sarah Benton (Grand Junction, Colo.) will look to fight the returners for playing time. Dias redshirted the 2014 season. Henry scored 62 goals in high school for the Chattanooga Christian School Chargers and contributed 16 assists. Williams accumulated 74 career goals at Powell High School and recorded 19 assists in just three seasons. She was named to the All-State year team twice for the Panthers. Benton will spend time in the midfield and as a striker for the Eagles. She was Fruita Monument's leading scorer as a sophomore.

The Carson-Newman women's soccer team kicks off the season with a 4 p.m. kickoff against the Trevecca Nazarane Trojans at McCown Field on September 3rd
