Pickett named to King University Invitational All-Tournament Team

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Junior setter Kristen Pickett has been named to the King University All-Tournament team for her performance over the weekend that helped Carson-Newman to a 3-1 record.

The Cleveland, Tenn. native tallied 125 assists in four matches for an average of 7.81 per set. Pickett also notched eight kills, 24 digs and three block assists over the weekend.

Against Trevecca Nazarene in the opening contest, Pickett dished out 42 helpers, the second-most of the 2013 campaign to go along with six digs.

The setter finished a dig shy of a double-double against King University on Friday as she had 32 assists.

Pickett has tallied 8.42 assists per set this season, the fourth highest total in the South Atlantic Conference. The Cleveland, Tenn. native leads the SAC with 13 service aces and has the second-most assists with 261 on the year.

It is the first time in her career that Pickett has been named to an All-Tournament team.
