JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman director of athletics Allen Morgan has announced that a search for a new head volleyball coach has begun.

"We'd like to thank former head coach Shannon Mincey for her decade of service, time and commitment to Carson-Newman and our volleyball program," Morgan said. "But ultimately it was time to move in a different direction with our volleyball program.  We're looking for someone of strong Christian faith with the willingness to continue to promote academic excellence while taking this program to an elite level on the court."

Carson-Newman loses just one senior and returns five starters for 2014, including a pair of all-conference performers in Rachel Harper and Kristen Pickett. 

"I am very appreciative to have coached at Carson-Newman 10 years," Mincey said. "I loved the program, the school and the people I worked with. My family and I were received with open arms and nurtured from such a strong supportive family."
