Brown, Bowman lead Eagles Track at the Power Sox Invitational

Hickory, N.C. - The Carson-Newman Track Team ran in its first meet of the outdoor season in Hickory, N.C. on Saturday.  The Team had several top ten finishes. 

The meet featured seven South Atlantic Conference Schools and other teams throughout the region.  Over 15 teams participated in the meet. 

"We had several athletes who ran for the first time for Carson-Newman, so it was a great eye opener for them as to what kind of competition is out there," Coach David Needs (head track coach in his 15th season as head track coach).   "We will use this as a spring board to improve when compete in some very challenging meets later this season."  

While no team score was kept, the Eagles still had many great performances; among which were Jason Brown winning the Long Jump and Amanda Bowman winning the Steeple-Chase.
