Eagles wrap up season at Food Lion SAC Championship meet
BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. – Carson-Newman's men's and women's cross country teams finished ninth and 10th respectively at the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship meet at Montreat College in Black Mountain, N.C. 

Carson-Newman's men's team was picked 12th in the preseason poll, but was able to top Newberry, Catawba and Coker. 

Nick Guerra was the men's team's top finisher.  He came in 38th with a time of 28:25 on the 8k course. 

Amanda Bowman was the women's top finisher. She came in 42nd with a time of 21:36 on the 5k course. 

Wingate produced the top four finishers on the women's side to take home the SAC title.  Mars Hill took home its 17th consecutive conference title on the men's side.  Queens' Felix Duchampt won the men's individual title. 

For Carson-Newman's women's team, Sara Honaker came in 52nd with a time of 22:07.  Megan Farjellah finished a minute behind Honaker in 72nd

 For the men, Patric Stump turned in a season best time of 28:50 for 52nd place.  Stephen Spidell was 16 seconds behind Stump for 57th place. 

Freshman Alex Bross came in 61st with a tme of 29:19. 

The SAC championship concludes the Eagles' 2013 season.
