NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After producing one of the best hitting performances in program history, Harrison Travis has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers' Association State Player of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday morning.
Travis becomes the first C-N player since Tyler Shaver in 2020 to be honored by TSWA. The weekly award is Travis' second of the week and second of his career.
In his first three at bats of the weekend series with Emory & Henry, Harrison Travis went yard. His first home run helped C-N tie the game in the top of the second inning.

After E&H scored two runs, Travis delivered again in the top of the 4th inning with a 2-run shot to left tie the game at 3.

He continued seeing the ball well and homered off E&H pitcher Zach Clover for a third straight time, this one which was the go-ahead home run in the 6th inning.

He became the first player in the program's recorded history to have a three-home game. Wisely, E&H elected to intentionally walk Travis in his final two at bats of game one.
The Soddy Daisy, Tenn. native was walked in first his two plate appearances of game two, and then the Wasps pitched to him and Travis did the unthinkable, hitting his fourth dinger between the doubleheader.

In the first two games of the series, Travis reached all nine times he went to the plate.
His success continued into the series finale. Travis had a three-hit day and hit another game-tying home run in the fifth inning. Travis became the first player since Tyler Thompson in 2018 to hit a home run in three straight games.

He batted .615 for the week, adding a double and six runs scored to his five-home run total, while posting a .722 on-base percentage and a 1.846 slugging percentage.
The graduate student now has 20 home runs in his career and 86 RBI. After the impressive week at the plate, Travis is now hitting a team-best .306 at the plate and .294 for his C-N career.
