JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (23-20) will compete in its final non-conference game of the regular season when it welcomes Trevecca Nazarene to the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

In its final midweek contest of the season, the Eagles will aim to win a third straight over Trevecca Nazarene. C-N is 2-7 in midweek games this season, with all seven losses coming in Tuesday games. The two midweek wins came in a Wednesday doubleheader against Montevallo on March 27th.

Carson-Newman and Trevecca Nazarene reignite a series that has six total meetings, the most recent coming in the 2019 season. The Eagles run-ruled the Trojans 15-5 in Mossy Creek. Four different hitters drove in multiple runs, highlighted by Tyler Thompson's second inning grand slam that broke the game open in the second inning. Griffin's club scored the game's first ten runs in the first three innings and never looked back. C-N has won back-to-back meetings, both by ten runs and leads the all-time ledger 4-2.

C-N's offense has its stride in the final month of the regular season, hitting .317 as a club and averaging nearly ten runs per game in April. It has scored double-digit runs in three of its eleven games. s

Hunter Harritan (Huntersville, N.C.) continues to climb the single season record books in two separate categories. His ten saves this season are the fourth-most in a single-season, two away from tying Will Gardner and John Butler for second place. Harritan has a 1.78 ERA which currently sits as the third-lowest mark in a single-season among those who have pitched at least 25 innings. The right-hander has recorded a save or a win in his last nine appearances and in 12 of his last 13.

Securing his eighth win of the season in the series finale against Wingate, Grif Hughes (Knoxville, Tenn.) is now tied with five other pitchers for the sixth-most wins in a season. Matt Huskey holds the record, winning 13 games during the 2002 season. Hughes has recorded a win in four of his last six appearances.

The Trojans head to Mossy Creek after winning three games in a four-game series with Cedarville over the weekend. The club's record is 23-17 overall with a 16-8 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. It started the year hot, winning six of its first seven games. Things evened out after the hot start as the Trojans lost seven of their next nine games. They found their stride again by seven of their final eight games in March.

Chase Sain's club has struggled on the road this season, sporting just a 4-10 record. Despite the poor record, they have fared better as of late, winning three of their last four road games entering the matchup.

Andru Becker is hitting a team-best .430 at the plate and it's in large part to his recent success at the dish. He owns a ten-game hitting streak and has multiple hits in seven straight games. Five other Trojans that have started at least 25 games are hitting above .300 as well. Cole McCallum has a team-high 11 home runs and 54 RBI. The offense hits .308 and averages more than seven runs per game.

The pitching staff sports a 4.59 ERA, second lowest in the GMAC. Opponents are hitting .278 against a group that has three shutouts and has gotten seven complete games from starting pitchers this season. In the Trojans last five wins, they have held opponents to five runs or less.

The contest will air on the Eagle Sports Network with video available on FloSports with a paid subscription and an audio-only stream on cneagles.com/live.
