Boschman adds two to sports performance staff

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Director of Sports Performance Jeff Boschman has announced the hiring of two graduate assistants to round out the C-N Sports Performance staff.

Boschman brings in former Carson-Newman baseball player Blaine Robinson and former Emory & Henry Football player Logan Tomlinson.

Robinson suited up for Tom Griffin's group from 2019-21, earning Eagle Scholar status along the way before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

Robinson spent the last year working with Sports Performance as an intern.  He utilized Vitruve bar velocity tracking, Dashr laser timers, Catapult GPS tracking and jump mats to provide real time feedback to athletes to improve output and performance of athletes.

Tomlinson wrapped up a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Emory & Henry.  In his lone season playing in the SAC, the former Wasp earned SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll status. He made 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and five quarterback hurries on the year. He posted four stops and three hurries in an upset win at Wingate (Sept. 24) and notched four tackles against UVA Wise (Oct. 8). Thomlinson recovered a fumble against Newberry (Sept. 17).

Away from the football gridiron, he is CPR/AED certified and CSCS certified.  He spent the last six months serving at Gate City High School as a strength and conditioning affiliate, working with the Blue Devils football team and advanced physical education classes.  Tomlinson also completed strength and conditioning internships with Clemson and Emory & Henry.
