Shealy named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman's Mary Shealy (Clinton, S.C.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, league officials announced today.
Shealy made the most of her Lady Eagle debut, belting a pair of home runs in a C-N sweep of Bluefield State (W.Va.) on Saturday. The true freshman finished the day 5-for-8 from the plate with five RBIs and three runs scored. The Clinton, S.C. native also pitched a two-hit shutout in C-N's 14-0 win in the first game of the afternoon.
Wingate pitcher Allison Smith took Pitcher of the Week honors.
The SAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's nine sports information directors.
