Clark, Burstrom net Chick-Fil-A Athlete of the Week honors

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman men's basketball's Charles Clark (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and women's basketball's Tatum Burstrom (Maryville, Tenn.) have been named the Chick-Fil-A Male and Female Athletes of the Week. 

Clark started his averaged 23 points and shot 57 percent from the field as the Eagles hammered Limestone at home but lost on the road to Queens.  Clark came off the bench in both contests. 

Clark started his week by pouring in 25 points against Limestone.  He was 8-for-15 from the field and 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. He followed that up with 21 points against Queens, including four three-pointers on six attempts. 

At the 4:37 mark of the first quarter in a win at Queens (N.C.) on Saturday senior guard Tatum Burstrom (Maryville, Tenn.) converted her second three-pointer of the game and 223rd of her career to move into the top spot on the program's all-time three-pointers made list passing Ashley Tipton's mark set from 2005-09.

The senior now has 226 career made three-pointers ranking fifth on the South Atlantic Conference's all-time list as Burstrom eyes the fourth spot held by Presbyterian's Jill Neumann of 248. She finished the day with 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the floor.

Burstrom began the week with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals in am 88-59 victory at North Greenville.
