Full Top-25 Rankings

LILBURN, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association ranked Carson-Newman women's basketball 20th in Division II in the poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Eagles have not been ranked since rising to No. 8 in late January, 2010 when the team reeled off 16 wins to begin the 2009-10 season. Carson-Newman advanced to the Southeast Region Semifinals during that campaign.

Carson-Newman is 4-0 to begin the 2015-16 campaign with three road victories and a quality win against sixth-ranked Columbus State (3-1) in its last game. The Cougars dropped to 14th after their loss.

The Lady Eagles have three wins against the top-three projected teams in the Peach Belt Conference, Columbus State, Lander and USC Aiken.

Four total Southeast Region teams are ranked nationally as Limestone (3-0) leads in the way at No. 9 and fellow South Atlantic Conference team Anderson (S.C.) (1-0) is 19th.

Carson-Newman was receiving votes during the 2014-15 season when the Lady Eagles began the season 11-0 but never cracked the top-25.

27 Division II head coaches vote in the weekly poll that is released each Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Eagles are in action Tuesday night at Tex Turner Arena against Lincoln Memorial for a 6 p.m. tip-off with coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m. on the Eagle Sports Network's flagship station Mountain Country 106.3 WPFT-FM and cneagles.com/live.
