Randolph inducted into Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Legendary Carson-Newman softball pitcher Heather Randolph has joined the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame.

Randolph was inducted into the body during a ceremony Monday evening.

This marks Randolph's fourth Hall of Fame Induction. In 2003-2004, she was the first softball player inducted into the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame. In 2013, she was the only female inducted into Central High School's first-ever Sports Hall of Fame. In 2014, she was inducted into Carson-Newman's Athletics Hall of Fame as well.

Carson-Newman softball's first NCAA All-American, Randolph was a two-time SAC Female Athlete of the Year and Softball Player of the Year. She set the SAC records for strikeouts in a season (259), career strikeouts (662), season ERA (0.58) and career ERA (.71).  With the exception of the career, ERA, they are record that have since been broken.

The 0.71 ERA still stands atop Carson-Newman's career record books. She ranks third all-time in C-N history in career strikeouts, fourth in complete games (97), third in shutouts (33) and third in most wins (90).

In her three seasons, Carson-Newman won the regular season SAC championship twice and the tournament title all three years she was with the program.  She helped the Eagles to a pair of NCAA regionals.

She was drafted by the Georgia Pride to play professional softball out of C-N.
