Bailey hauls in WePlayed Sports SAC Player of the Week honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman sophomore catcher Macauley Bailey (Cross Plains, Tenn.) has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. 

Bailey earns the weekly honor for the first time this season and the third time in her career.  She earned honors in back-to-back weeks as a freshman on March 12 and 19th

The sophomore hit .478 last week while helping the Eagles to a 5-1 record.  C-N collected sweeps of Emory & Henry and Converse with a split against Tusculum. 

For the week, Bailey clobbered three homers, two doubles and roped 11 hits.  She slugged .957 for the week and drove in 14 runs.

The week is part of a seven-game hitting streak and 12-game reached base streak for Bailey.  She logged four-multi hit efforts for the week and four multi-RBI contests. Bailey drove in four runs against Converse, E&H and Tusculum.

She has 14 home runs this season to lead the league and 29 for her career – tied for the fourth most in a career in school history.
