JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's Athletic Department will recognize five individuals with its distinguished service awards at halftime of the women's basketball game with Limestone Saturday at 2 p.m.  

The five awards are all named in honor of past athletic directors for Carson-Newman's athletic department.   

The David Barger Award is presented to a volunteer, coach, staff member, or administrator that has demonstrated exemplary leadership. This year's recipient is Dr. Lamar Brown. Lamar is a 1984 graduate and Carson-Newman football alumnus. He is a long-time school administrator in Georgia.

The Ron Case Award is presented to an individual who has contributed a notable premier service to Carson-Newman University Athletics. This year's recipient is Dr. Bill Walker. Bill is a 1981 graduate and Carson-Newman football alumnus. He is a long-time principal at White Pine School.
 
The Frosty Holt Award is presented to an individual who best personifies the Athletic Department's vision of Glorifying Christ through Comprehensive Excellence." This year's recipient is Mr. Frank Gioscia. Frank is a 1974 graduate and C-N football alumnus. 

The Allen Morgan Award is presented to a former Carson-Newman University student-athlete or coach for notable accomplishments and life experience. This year's recipient is Mr. German Arguelles. German is a 1997 graduate and C-N men's soccer alumnus. 

The Ken Sparks Award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding commitment and philanthropic dedication to Carson-Newman University Athletics. This year's recipient is Mr. Gary Wyatt. Gary and his wife, Terry, have been loyal and dedicated supporters for many years. The Wyatt Family is synonymous with Carson-Newman Athletics. The C-N football practice football field is named after Gary.
