CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carson-Newman cross country teams wrapped up their 2010 seasons with a pair of top 20 finishes on Saturday morning in the NCAA Southeast Region Championship at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C.

The Lady Eagles finished 15th in the meet, while the Eagles turned in a 20th place finish.

Top-seeded Queens claimed the women's title, as the Lady Royals placed three runners in the top 10 in the 6,000-meter event. Lenoir-Rhyne's Kate Griewisch won the individual title for a second consecutive year with a time of 20:55.6.

Sophomore Meredith Nix (Walhalla, S.C.) led the way for the Lady Eagles, finishing 62nd with a time of 24:47.8, while sophomore Brooke Earhart (Dickson, Tenn.) finished 64th with a time of 24:52.5.

Queens also captured its fourth straight men's title with four runners finishing in the top 10. Columbus State's Meshack Koyiaki won the 10,000-meter event with a time of 29:45.5.

Senior Jonathan Madden (Franklin, Tenn.) paced the Eagles with a 72nd place finish as he crossed the finish line in a time of 34:45, while freshman Tyler Moore (Arab, Ala.) turned in a time of 35:19.7 to finish 79th.

Queens and King College will advance to the NCAA Championship on the women's side, while Queens, Columbus State and Mars Hill qualified for the men's championship.
