Dickie tops Eagles' standings at Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Once again, freshman runner Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn.) set the standard for the Carson-Newman cross country team.

Dickie placed sixth overall at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Ky. as the men's team finished in 28th-place and the women's squad placed 33rd. Over 40 teams competed in the race.

Freshman Tori Gaul (Salisbury, N.C.) paced the women with a time of 20:29.42.

"We're in a great spot to be where we want to be for conference. Everyone had great spots. We are in a great spot to build this program where we want it to go," coach Tony Parrilla said.

Junior Patrick Stump (Leesburg, Va.) placed 149th and sophomore Alec Bross (Charlotte, N.C.) finished in 161st.

On the women's side, junior Hannah Kiser (Cedar Parks, Texas) finished in 125th and sophomore Sara Honaker (Mason, Ohio) placed in 231st-place. 

The Eagles return to action next Saturday at the McAlpine Invitational in Charlotte, N.C.
