MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Carson-Newman cross country season came to an end Saturday at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on the campus of the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala.
The men's team finished 22nd and the women's team placed 24th.
"Championship meets like this really gives you a big picture with where you need to improve as a program," coach Tony Parrilla said.
The men were led by freshmen Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Luke Greer (Abington, United Kingdom). Dickie placed 69th in the 10-kilometer run with a time 35:15.17 and Greer finished four spots back in 73rd in 35:20.02.
Sophomore Nick Guerra (Richardson, Texas) was the third-quickest Eagle with a time of 36:50.55 placing him 119th. Alec Bross and Mark Edwards rounded out the men's team.
On the women's side, freshman Tori Gaul (Salisbury, N.C.) led the way with a 84th-place finish with a time of 25:11.4 and sophomore Sara Honaker (Mason, Ohio) followed up two spots later in 86th and a time of 25:13.7.
Junior Aiyana Martino (Kalispell, Mont.) placed 142th and freshman Sarah Sharp (Lewis Center, Ohio) placed six spots behind her in 148th with a time of 27:31.5.
