Eagles finish regular season with showing at Falcon Classic

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Carson-Newman cross country team finished the regular season at the Falcon Classic, which served as the Southeast Regional preview meet. The men's team finished in the 13th, while the women completed the race in 16th. 

Most of the top teams in the Southeast Region competed at the Falcon Classic.

"We saw where we were and we saw what we needed to fix before conference and everything is fixable," coach Tony Parrilla said. "It was a great experience to see where we are and know we know so we are going to hammer out some things."

On the men's side, freshman Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the Eagles with a 21st-place finish and a time of 27:17.20. Freshman Luke Greer (Abington, England), in his second race, finished second in the team and 63rd overall. 

For the women, sophomore Sara Honaker (Mason, Ohio) led the team with a time of 25:57.80 and 64th in the standings. Freshman Tori Gaul (Salisbury, N.C.) finished 77th with junior Aiyana Martino (Kalispell, Mont,) had her season-best finish in the team, placing fourth within the Eagles and 127th overall."

Carson-Newman races in three weeks at the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Meet in Salisbury, N.C.
