ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman first baseman Kyle Koeneman has been named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Koeneman hit .438 as the Eagles went 4-1 last week. The senior hit three home runs – including a game-winning two-run shot against North Georgia in the ninth inning and a game-tying blast in the ninth inning of a game versus Mars Hill that C-N went on to win in 11 innings.
Koeneman's week also included seven walks, seven runs and 10 RBI. Over the five games, he had an on-base percentage of .609.
Koeneman is among the national leaders in home runs with 10.
Catawba pitcher Nick Lomascolo earned SAC Pitcher of the Week honors.
Carson-Newman returns to action on Tuesday against Belmont Abbey. First pitch of the double header is at 1 p.m. at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex.
