Eagles’ Long, Faithful named to SAC All-Tournament Team

FOREST CITY, N.C. – Carson-Newman leftfielder Zach Long and pitcher Evan Faithful have been named to the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Baseball All-Tournament Team.

The pair led the Eagles to a 2-2 record and a third-place finish, which included a pair of wins over nationally-ranked Catawba.  

Long batted .444 for the weekend, going 8-for-18 with two doubles and three runs scored. He went 5-for-10 against the Indians, scoring all three of his runs.

Faithful started the Eagles' opener against Catawba. He allowed three earned runs in 6.0 innings pitched, striking out one and walking only one.

The Tusculum Pioneers won the tournament in four straight games.
