JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's Eagle Sports Network released the sixth epside of its podcast - Mossy Creek Conversations - Wednesday featuring former C-N pitcher Steve Cishek, an 11-year Major League Baseball veteran to discuss his time at Mossy Creek and to reflect on his big league experience.
Cishek discusses what brought him to Carson-Newman and his days at Mossy Creek. The 11-year Major League Baseball pitcher has appeared in 594 career games with six teams. Cishek chats about his time in the big leagues, how baseball has changed, his family and what's next in his career.
The Falmouth, Mass. native was a key member on the 2007 Carson-Newman South Atlantic Conference Tournament title team. He has discussed his career for the Eagles twice before. You can view a chat from 2013 here and from 2017 here.
Over the course of his decade-plus time in The Show, the right-hander has pitched 576 innings for tallying 132 saves posting a 2.78 career earned run average. He spent six seasons with the Marlins, the team that drafted him in the fifth round of the 2007 draft with stops in St. Louis Seattle, Tampa Bay and with both the Cubs and White Sox in Chicago.
