GREENSBORO, N.C. - Day three preliminary swims for Carson-Newman at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships placed athletes in 'A' finals for the third-consecutive day.

Senior Maggie Melhorn broke a school record, the eighth for C-N on the week in total, in the 100 breaststroke claiming a third-place finish with a time of 1:01.15.

The event will mark the first individual final race for the Knoxville, Tenn. native this week. Melhorn topped Bluegrass Mountain Champion winner Michelle Prayson from Queens in the event who finished fourth.

CJ Jensen put together another lifetime best swim during the week with a 14th-place finish in the 200 butterfly at 2:03.55. Jensen will compete in the 'B' final for the second-straight night after winning last night's 'B' final in the 400 individual medley.

Both C-N relay teams in the 800 freestyle recorded 4th-place finishes in the morning swims with the final eight teams to compete later tonight.
