Both Eagle swim teams move into CollegeSwimming.com top 10

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn – On Tuesday, CollegeSwimming.com came out with a new set of rankings and both of Carson-Newman's swim teams have moved into the top 10 nationally.

The women's team is now ranked 10th in the country, while the men's squad finds themselves at No. 6. Both of those placements represent the highest spots either program has claimed in its history.

The Eagles are coming off a weekend in which they competed against a pair of Division I programs at the Bearcats Midseason Invitational at the University of Cincinnati. During their competition with the Bearcats and the Indiana State Sycamores, C-N set nine new program records and also put up three national B qualifying times.

Carson-Newman has also claimed victory in all three of their dual meets this season, knocking off Limestone, the University of the Cumberlands and King (Tenn.). During those three meets, they took first place in every race but two.

C-N is one of four schools of out the Bluegrass Mountain Athletic Conference placed in the top 25 in the most recent rankings. Both the men's and women's teams from the Queens (N.C.) are ranked second in Division II. Limestone's women's team is at No. 8. For Wingate, their men's team is ranked 10th while their women came in at No. 20.

The Eagles next competition is set for December 17th when they travel to Bellarmine for a triple meet with the Knights and Maryville College Scots.
