Nate Gangelhoff is in his first season as Carson-Newman's head men's and women's tennis coach.  He was announced to the position on Dec. 17, 2024.  

Gangelhoff spent two years at Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla. before coming to C-N. He coached the Royals to their first SUN Conference tournament appearance this past season. 

With the Royals, Gangelhoff coached three NAIA All-American singles players, two NAIA All-American doubles players and seven NAIA/NCCAA All-Academic Players. 

Prior to his time at Warner, Gangelhoff was named the 2021 Polk County High School Coach of the Year while at Lakeland High School. Lakeland went undefeated in the regular season and competed in the State Championship for the first time since 1973.

Gangelhoff is a native of Beaverton, Oregon. In 2013, he moved to Lakeland, Fla. to attend Southeastern University. He played four seasons of collegiate tennis and was the captain of his team his senior year. Nate graduated with a bachelor's in communications in 2017.
 
He then attended Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Fla. as a coach. He got to train with and see the coaching styles of some of the world's top professional tennis players such as Monica Puig, Nick Kyrgios, and Naomi Osaka.
 
In 2018, Gangelhoff went back to his hometown to work for a non-profit tennis organization called Portland Tennis and Education. This non-profit helped kids in need of mentoring, tutoring, and used tennis as a way to get exercise. 
 
Nate is married to the former Abby Cecchine.  The couple has a cat and two dogs.
