JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Women's Tennis kept its winning ways rolling with its seventh straight in a sweep of Emory & Henry.

Carson-Newman (9-2, 6-0 South Atlantic Conference) broke out the brooms in a 4-0 swift defeat of Emory & Henry (2-10, 1-7 SAC) that took just around an hour and a half from first serve to the clinching match point.

Singles play looked as dominant as ever with swift defeats on Courts No. 1, 3, and 6.

"We play matches like this more and more competitively as a team," Carson-Newman Women's Tennis head coach Nathan Gangelhoff said. "With higher energy, everyone feels good and plays good, and I thought today was a really good day (for that)."

The highlight that stood above the rest was from junior transfer Maria del Mar Sarda Marti (Barcelona, Spain) who won her 13th straight singles match to start her Carson-Newman career.

"I'm playing good because of my motivation and energy," del Mar Sarda Marti said. "The team makes everything so great, with their motivation, and we just have a really good team this year."

In the completed singles matches, the Eagles went 24-6 across the six combined sets.
