JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – No. 50 Carson-Newman (11-4, 7-2 SAC) suffered its first home loss of the season to #6 Catawba (18-0, 10-0 SAC) on Monday afternoon at the Charles A. "Buddy" Catlett Tennis Complex.

"Our team's effort and energy is always there," Carson-Newman head coach Nate Gangelhoff said. "Our girls always have that team energy together. Catawba is really good and we knew that coming in and we knew we would have to play very good to give ourselves some momentum. We had some of that early in doubles. I was proud of how we started doubles."

The loss ends an unbeaten home regular season for the Eagles. Dating back to the end of last season, C-N had won eight straight matches in Jefferson City including the first seven this season.
