"When Dr. Randall O'Brien asked us to go on this trip, it was like a dream come true," Strudwick said. "Golf and softball are such huge parts of the sports arena in Korea, the school is trying to outreach to Korea and have their students to come over for Carson-Newman's exceptional academics."

The trip has been arranged in part through Dr. Billy Kim, the president of the Baptist World Alliance from 2000-2005 and a friend of Carson-Newman's. 

"Dr. Kim has been a great friend of the college," Kazee-Hollifield said. "We're thankful to be able to go into churches and be able to spread the Good News as well as being able to spread the good word about Carson-Newman University."

Throughout the trip, many of Kazee-Hollifield's and Strudwick's interactions will be centered around the Presidents Cup, a series of men's golf matches similar to the Ryder Cup featuring a team representing the United States and an international team representing the rest of the world minus Europe.

While Kazee-Hollifield laughed about having to brush up on her golf game, she hopes sports will allow her and Strudwick to break down borders. 

"It's an advantage that we have," Kazee-Hollifield said. "We're going there to impact lives on a global scale.  We're with kids day in and day out. Being here at Carson-Newman for such a long time and knowing what we are all about, that's something great to share with anyone. We're just blessed to do it globally."
