WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Carson-Newman (8-10) fell to the University of Cumberlands (5-5) 7-2 Tuesday afternoon in Williamsburg, Ky.

Freshman Brooke Sanderson (Evans, Ga.) brought in a point for the Eagles in singles play. She defeated Shelby Muff after a tiebreaker 6-1, 2-6, 10-8.

At no. 6 singles, Lindsay Collette won by default.

Sanderson teamed up with senior Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.) to obtain the second point for Carson-Newman at no. 2 doubles. They defeated Erin Hart and Trinity Goodman 8-3.

The Eagles return to conference play on Friday at 1:00 p.m. versus Brevard.
