FORT MILL, S.C. – Another successful night of competition for the Eagles of Carson-Newman swimming Saturday. The Eagles saw action in 10 individual and team events with sophomore Kailee Morgan (Greenville, S.C.) and freshman Nicolas Lenuza (Spain) leading the way for their teams.

As the final day of events looms, Carson-Newman holds their third-place spot on both men's and women's side of action. The women sit at 1,065 points while the men are currently at 970.5 through three days. Both teams trail the Wingate and Queens teams.

Morgan set the second-fastest time for program history in the women's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.07. She was joined in the top-eight of competition by freshman Chrisman Rand (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) while teammates Antonia Sanint (Bogota, Colombia) and Claudia Carroll (Atlanta, Ga.) cemented a top-12 event finish to help gain valuable team points.

As for Lenuza, he is now the holder of the second-fastest men's 100-yard breaststroke time with his submission of 55.07. Teammates Joey Clemmer (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and Pep Castells (Spain) finished in the top-16 with their respective times.

Lenuza also made his BMC debut worthwhile as he submitted the fourth-fastest time in the men's 200-yard butterfly in 1:51.67. He was joined in the top-15 by teammates Casey Charles (Mount Juliet, Tenn.), freshman Chase Rayment (South Africa), freshman Carson Jones (Southaven, Miss.), and junior Hayden Williams (Sevierville, Tenn.).

To go along with Lenuza's backstroke time, Rayment and freshman Denilson Cpyrianos (Bulawayo, Matabeleland, Zimbabwe) submit themselves into the top-5 for C-N history in the men's 100-yard backstroke. Rayment finished in 48.98 while Cyprianos came in close behind at 49.63. Meanwhile, teammates Nikita Puzevich (Belarus) and Chad Andoljsek (Slovenia) continued their Eagles career as members of the final top-12 in the event Saturday night.  

Senior CJ Jensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) is making a name for herself during her last BMC performance. Tonight, she set the third-fastest program time with a 2:02.27 finish while sophomore Rachel Peden (Boiling Springs, S.C.) finished in the top-5 as well. Rebecca Peden (Boiling Springs, S.C.) along with sophomore Natalia Amano (Brazil) and freshman Kyla Blakemore (Durban, KwaZulu Natal) made their name known with resounding top-16 finishes on the night.

Carson-Newman also gained top times in the men's 500-yard freestyle and women's 100-yard backstroke. Charles finished in the top-12 for the 500 free while junior Matthew George (Manchester, England), freshman Adam Jones (Huntsville, Ala.) and freshman Jed Little (Anderson, S.C.) finished close behind to round out the top-16. In the women's 100-yard backstroke, sophomore Manon Compagner (Balkburg, The Netherlands) gained another top finish with a time of 57.80 with teammates junior Meredith Ginn (Ocala, Fla.), Blakemore, and Amano garnering top-15 times to add to their Eagles career.

The final event on the night was an event rarely seen beyond the confines of Conference: the 800-yard freestyle relay. In the event tonight, the women's finished second in a time of 7:33.16 thanks to the efforts of freshman Kennadi King (Marietta, Ga.), Rachel Peden, Jensen, and Compagner. The men collected another top-three finish with their time of 6:38.19 behind the splashing of George, junior Brandon Meier (Greenville, S.C.), Cyprianos, and Lima.

The Eagles return for the final day on Sunday from Fort Mill as prelims start at 10 a.m.
