JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles will host their annual WBCA Pink Zone© game on Saturday night when they host Lenoir-Rhyne. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at Holt Fieldhouse.
The Pink Zone is the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's official fundraiser for breast cancer research through the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund in conjunction with the V Foundation. Proceeds will go to the foundation, and donations will be accepted throughout the night to help in the fight against the dreaded disease.
"This is a great cause," C-N head coach Dean Walsh said. "Breast cancer is such a devastating diseased that we need to try to get a handle on. Every little bit helps. Hopefully, with the community support and contributions, we can help take a step further to finding a cure."
All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to support the cause. The WBCA Pink Zone has raised nearly 3.3 million dollars in only four years.
