JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — With a jump shot in the second half, Carson-Newman college senior Katlin Moore (Fort Mill, S.C.) scored her 1,000th point as a collegiate athlete. Moore's nine points helped the Lady Eagles put away Anderson (S.C.) University, 74-65, on Saturday in the final South Atlantic Conference game for both teams.

This will be the last game at Holt Fieldhouse for the Carson-Newman women this season. The Lady Eagles finish the regular season with a 13-15 record and 9-9 SAC mark. C-N will return to action on the road on Wednesday in the SAC Tournament. The conference will announce tournament pairings on Sunday.

Anderson falls to 11-15 on the season and 7-11 in the SAC.

Moore wasn't the only senior making her last appearance on the Holt Fieldhouse floor in a Carson-Newman uniform. Senior guard Mandy Mendenhall (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) lit up the scoreboard on her final night with the Lady Eagles. Mendenhall scored 14 points and was instrumental in a late first half surge that allowed C-N to go into halftime tied 31-31.

Down by six with three minutes to go in the opening half, Mendenhall hit a free throw and then zeroed in on a 3-pointer to pull within two. Two free throws from freshman guard Rechelle Dye (Greeneville, Tenn.) and a layup from junior forward Zoriah Williams (Calera, Ala.) evened the game and gave the Lady Eagles the momentum. Williams finished the game with 17 points.

C-N stayed on the attack in the second half, taking the lead for good with a layup from freshman forward Shannon Depew (Newport, Tenn.). Courdne Miles (Burlington, N.C.) teamed up with Williams and Depew to dominate the game inside the paint. Miles finished with 15 points, with 10 coming in the first half. Depew scored six in the game.

Dye followed up her bruising show Wednesday against LMU with another physical performance. Dye continually threw her body into the lane, challenged for baskets and drew fouls. Dye was sent to the free throw line four times and finished the game with seven points.

The Lady Eagles shot nearly 54 percent in the second half while holding the Lady Trojans to just 33 percent. Breonda Shannon (Columbia, S.C.) led Anderson with 21 points. Alissa Diaz (Coral Springs, Fla.) scored 19 and Alexa Neal (Greensboro, N.C.) scored 10.
