JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - With its first three games of the season postponed due to Covid-19 management requirements consistent with the South Atlantic Conference, the Lady Eagles add a postponement to the Dec. 5 contest against Mars Hill and announce the new dates for three of the contests altered Friday.
The first makeup outing will come on Dec. 19 with a 2 p.m. opening tap inside of the cozy confines of Holt Fieldhouse against defending SAC regular-season champion Anderson. Two weeks later to open 2021, C-N travels to Coker for a 2 p.m. start time slated from the DeLoach Center. Mike Mincey's team will travel to Wingate on Feb. 3 for a 5:30 tip-off against the Bulldogs.
At this time, there is no announcement on the rescheduling of the Mars Hill game. As it stands, the Orange and Blue will first hit the hardwood on Dec. 2 welcoming Newberry to Mossy Creek for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. In accordance with public health guidlines surrounding the CoVID-19 pandemic, attendance will be limited to 305 people at Carson-Newman home basketball games during the 2020-21 season. The Mountain 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) will carry the contest locally with "The AEC Countdown to Tip-Off" starting 15 minutes before the start of the game.
Per SAC protocols, if one of the team's due to play in a game receives a positive test in their "inner bubble" then a team is shut down for 14 days.
