CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Carson-Newman women's golf's Kelli Pemberton (Knoxville, Tenn.), Meridith Hawkins (Powell, Tenn.) and Jessica Hart (Roanoke, Va.) have all earned All-American Scholar honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Hawkins earns a spot on the team for the second time in her career while Pemberton and Hart are both first-time honorees.
Hawkins was the 2014-15 SAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an Honorable Mention All-SAC regular season team member. She had her best finish of the season was a seventh-place showing at the Etowah Intercollegiate in a tournament where the junior shot both rounds in the 70s.
Her low round of the season was a 73 during the second round of the Fighting Camel Fall Classic.
Pemberton tallied two rounds of 77 for her best score of the season during the final rounds of the Ross Resorts Invitational and the SAC Championships
The best finish of her junior campaign was a tie for 13th at the SAC Championships.
Hart shot her career low score of 74 during the second round of the SAC Championships in April. The best finish of the year was a 12th-place showing at the Etowah Intercollegiate. She competed in eight tournaments, including every competition during the spring season.
The three Eagles are among seven SAC honorees on the WGCA team. Wingate also had three golfers selected to the squad while Newberry had one.
