Throughout the 2015 volleyball season, freshman libero Hannah Robertson (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) will write about her experiences at Carson-Newman. A new installment will be released each Monday afternoon. Click on the links to read Robertson's passages.
Some people get to catch up on homework, or even relax at home on their schools fall break. Carson-Newman volleyball on the other hand, has got its eyes on the prize. This week we have really taken the quote that Coach Dan gave us that I listed in my previous rundown to heart. We have set our minds to look at all the victories we have had and remember how good we are, and look at that one loss as a source of motivation and determination to grow as individuals and as a team.
During practice this week, we had the mindset to improve upon the problems we faced, and did not stop until those problems were fixed. With our defense getting stronger, and our offenses chemistry coming together, we truly are seeing what it's like to grow together as a team. Not only on the court, but off the court as well. With a team as talented as this one, it was no surprise for this past weekend to be full of victories. Taking Newberry in a sweep, and Anderson in 3-1, it was more confirmation that the way we are playing is how the game is meant to be played. Of course, none of this would be possible without our awesome coaching staff and incredible fans to push us closer to our goal.
As we look forward to this coming week with numerous road games ahead, we must come together and work harder than ever as a team. With a seven-match away game streak in our near future, I'm excited to see the new obstacles we will overcome.
We know who we are, we know what it takes, and we know where we are going. Carson-Newman volleyball is about to make history! #CNorDIE
Love always,
Hannah Robertson
