Female Performance

Molly Locke @ Anderson in SAC quarters: Earlier in the season, the senior outside hitter had become the fourth player in school history to record a 20-kill and 20-dig match. Against the Trojans, Locke (College Grove, Tenn.) became the first player in school history to record multiple matches with 20 and 20 in the same season. She led the Eagles with 25 kills while hitting .290 to go along with 27 digs.

Anna Patton @ Anderson in SAC quarters: The sophomore setter racked up a career-high 61 assists becoming the first Carson-Newman player with at least 60 assists since Kari Gibson had 62 at Lincoln Memorial on October 17, 2006. She also had 14 digs, three service aces and a career-high 5.5 total blocks. Four of the 5.5 total blocks were solo rejections marking the first time since Sabina Papala recorded five against Newberry on Oct. 19th, 2012 that a volleyball player had at least four solo blocks in a match.

Anna Patton @ Lander: Anna Patton piled up 51 assists in a sweep at Lander on October 10 marking the most assists in a three-set match by a C-N player since Sherry Trimble's 52 helpers versus King (Tenn.) on September 26, 2002 in Jefferson City. It was the second-most assists in a three-set match by a Division II player in 2015. Patton was named the SAC Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career on October 13 following that performance during a week she averaged 11.08 assists.

Heida Ragney @ Catawba: Freshman Heida Ragney (Akureyri, Iceland) added three assists in a 4-1 win at Catawba on Oct. 10th for the first three-assist game by an Eagle since Brittany Moore contributed to three goals against Lees-McRae on Oct. 5th, 2005. The freshman midfielder assisted by goals by junior Julianne Herrity (Donegal, Ireland) and one of senior Nikki McWilliams's (Saintfield, Northern Ireland) goals.

Nikki McWilliams v. Queens: Senior Nikki McWilliams (Saintfield, Northern Ireland) recorded her first multi-goal game with two scores to help the Eagles knock off the Queens (N.C.) Royals on Sept. 27th at McCown Field. McWilliams took advantage of a Queens's miscue in the 21st-minute and corralled the ball on the right side of the 18-yard box, beat goalkeeper Tori Danchak to her left and rolled her shot into the net for the 1-0 lead. McWilliams tallied the second goal of the game in the 73rd-minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Freshman Alex Brandan (Knoxville, Tenn.) sent a cross in from the left side of the field that found McWilliams and the senior sled the shot home to the left side of the net for eventual game-winner. The win sent the Eagles' to a 4-0 mark in South Atlantic Conference play.
