Robertson's Rundown: October 19, 2015

Carson-Newman Volleyball had an extremely productive and exciting week leading up to the two  matches over the weekend. Every practice was filled with intense competition! Every player left the gym knowing that they got better that day. We made sure to mix up the teams a bunch and several people played positions that they wouldn't normally.  But, like coach says, be a volleyball player first and a specialist second. We are so blessed as a program to have people who can be put in any situation and excel!

But, all work and no play makes coach grumpy, so he made sure we all had some fun outside the gym this week. On Tuesday we had a pumpkin carving contest!!! Some were scary, some were funny, and some were cute! Our amazing trainer Coree grilled chicken for us while we carved and it was an overall amazing experience! While all the pumpkins had their own character, the winners were senior Tina Hill, junior Maddie Borch, and freshman Allie Foster who transformed their pumpkin into an Alien space ship. Check out our Twitter or Instagram for photos. After we carved, we all went and supported the Carson-Newman men's soccer team while they defeated top-10 opponent Young Harris! So unbelievably impressed with both our soccer teams who are killing it.

The weekend brought intense excitement, with CNVB bringing home two road wins! While we swept both L-R and Brevard, our wins came paired with interesting events. Our win versus Lenoir-Rhyne was quite the comeback. We were trailing 18-7 in the third set and came back to win 25-23!  GREATEST COMEBACK IN C-N VOLLEYBALL HISTORY!

We are gearing up for another long week of games, and preparing for our dig pink weekend! Please come out to support us on the 23rd and 24th for our Dig Pink weekend!!

It's always a great day to be an Eagle! Talons Up people!

Love always,

Hannah Robertson
