Like the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Six months ago, 16 girls came together all with one dream. The dream was to be the best girls we could be on and off the court, and go as far as we can in our season in hopes of making Carson-Newman history.

To say we exceeded what we ever could have hoped for is an understatement. This past week, we spent our final week of the season in Tampa preparing for one last bang. Although we lost the first round, just making it to the Elite 8 is something we had never dreamed of doing. Spending our last week as a team together on the beach under the warm rays and perfect breeze of Clearwater Beach was the perfect end to truly a perfect season.

I think I speak for all of us when I say that I never knew I could love a group of girls so much. From picking up a ball to pepper for the first time in the 6th grade, to dog piling during the region championship and crying my eyes out with the most amazing girls I have ever met, volleyball has given me the most incredible memories I could ever ask for.

Carson-Newman volleyball is nothing short of a dream come true. The coaches, the girls, we are truly a family. I could not have asked for a better home for my college years, and could not ask for a more amazing group of girls to call my sisters. The season may be over, but this years team will never be.

Thankful for Justin Bieber concerts before each game, and for countless smiles and happy tears. Not always super thankful for 7 a.m. yoga, or being yelled at for lost band aids on the court! Sometimes thankful for the human obstacle course of bodies sleeping on the floor on our long bus adventures, but no matter what ALWAYS thankful to be a Lady Eagle. Thanks so much for keeping up with us this season and your endless amount of support and love. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from your favorite girls!
