JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Former Carson-Newman post player Parker Role' has made his way back to Mossy Creek, joining C-N head coach Chuck Benson's staff as a graduate assistant coach.

"After graduating, Parker spent a year away from C-N pursuing other career options," Benson said. "He reached out this spring wanting to get involved with the program and pursue a masters degree. I'm always interested in helping our former players in any way possible, so we've welcomed Parker back and he will serve as a member of our coaching staff this upcoming season."

Role' blossomed in his senior season to average a career-best 8.8 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per contest.  He appeared in all 29 games for the Eagles with 12 starts.  Role' made 61 percent of his shots.  He produced 11 double-digit scoring efforts and 12 games with at least five rebounds. He turned in the only two double-doubles of his career in back-to-back games against Mars Hill (2/6) and Coker (2/9).  He had 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Lions and 16 points and 11 boards against the Cobras.  He reset his career-high against Fort Valley State (12/8) with 21 against the Wildcats.

Originally, Role' attended Montevallo. Between his time with the Falcons and the Eagles, he appeared in two NCAA tournaments.

Role' accrued 434 points and 274 rebounds in his three years at Carson-Newman.  He ranks seventh all-time in Carson-Newman basketball history in career field goal percentage.  Role' made 56.8 percent of his shots in his time at Mossy Creek.
