JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman men's and women's tennis head coach Jim Frederick has announced the hiring of Gabriel Dabdab as the program's new graduate assistant.

Dabdab remains at Mossy Creek after finishing up a phenomenal career as an Eagle on and off the court. In his time as an Eagle, Dabdab finished his C-N career with the third-most career singles wins (28) for men's tennis including a career-high 10 victories during the 2016-17 season. The Rio de Janeiro native also amassed the second-most career doubles victories for C-N men's tennis with his 34 combined wins over five years of action, including a career-high 12 during the 2016-17 season as well.

"It's really good to be back and it's a good way to be back. It will be a new ride and journey to be here but I'm excited as I enter my sixth year here at Carson-Newman," Dabdab said. "Coach Frederick is really trying to change this program around and every year from now on, this program will get better on both sides."

Dabdab graduated from Carson-Newman last May with a Bachelor's degree in Finance. He will now continue his graduate studies at C-N as he works to complete a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Operations.

"Honestly, the guys and girls on this team have the opportunity to succeed as much as possible and both have the potential to improve each and every year they play here," Dabdab said. "Every year this program has the chance to get better than last year and I think that is the key to a successful program like this one."

As part of his various duties with the program, Dabdab will assist Frederick with seasonal recruiting, on-court coaching, and team prep along with other duties as assigned.
