JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's Eagle Sports Network released the 11th epside of its podcast - Mossy Creek Conversations - Wednesday featuring former C-N central defender Julie Nelson, a veteran pro player that has played for her home country, Northern Ireland, for 16 years to discuss how she made it to Mossy Creek and why the sport of women's football continues to expand.

Nelson was an integral part of two Final Four soccer teams at Carson-Newman earning a pair of first-team All-South Atlantic Conference selections and the 2014 SAC Tournament MVP. She recounts her decision to come to the United States and her experience at Mossy Creek that led to a club career that has lasted over a decade.

On Sept. 6, 2013, the Larne, Northern Ireland native earned her 100th career cap in a match versus Slovakia becoming the first and only woman to ever reach the century mark after only two men had achieved the tally. She is currently at 113 appearances and counting.
