JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman soccer program has announced a summer goalkeeper camp, set for June 21-23.

The camp will last two and half days and is open to boys and girls ages 10-18. The $200 registration fee includes a camp t-shirt, two lunches, snacks and college-style training sessions both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Both of the first two days will last from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 21 will be dedicated to simple techniques as the campers work on their handling, footwork, crossing and distribution. The second day, June 22, will turn the group's attention to shots from angles and reactions. All of this leads to the camp finale on June 23 that lasts from 9:30 a.m. to noon where the participants play goalkeeper-based games to wrap up the camp.

Each day provides an opportunity for players to improve their talent and ability with specific goalkeeper training. The instruction from the C-N goalkeeper coach Joe Boyd will focus on individual skill development with a focus on tactical and technical development in both field sessions and in the classroom.

The training schedule for the camp is designed to improve each camper by focusing on all aspects of goalkeeping.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, campers are asked to bring a water bottle, wear a face mask and social distance. Spectators, including parents and families, are not permitted at any of the sessions.

For questions, contact goalkeeper coach Joe Boyd at jaboyd@cn.edu, women's soccer head coach Simon Duffy at sduffy@cn.edu or men's soccer head coach Stephen Lyons at slyons@cn.edu.
