Curt Duncan rakes in third straight SAC Special Teams Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Curt Duncan (Morristown, Tenn.) has been blasting kickoffs the last three weeks – setting up the Eagle defense to defend lengthy fields.  As a result, the junior hauled in his third straight SAC Special Teams Player of the Week award and his fourth this season.

Duncan kicked three of his kickoffs in the Eagles 35-19 victory over Brevard through the end zone for touchbacks.  The Tornadoes average starting field position was the 23.  The Morristown, Tenn.-native also was 5-5 on extra points to stay perfect on PATS for the year.

In the past three weeks, Duncan has kicked nine touchbacks and given opponents an average starting field position of the their own 21 yard line following his kicks.

Out of his last 18 kicks, only two have been returned beyond the 30 yard line.

Duncan and the rest of the Eagles ready themselves for Tusculum on the road Saturday. Kickoff from Pioneer Field is slated for 1:30 p.m.  Coverage on the Coca-Cola Eagle Sports Network begins at 12:30 p.m.
