JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles basketball team will honor breast cancer survivors and benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund with "Pink Night" and "Play 4Kay Night" as the Lady Eagles host Mars Hill at Holt Fieldhouse on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game, and pink Kay Yow Foundation t-shirts will be available for sale at the game with all proceeds benefitting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Breast cancer survivors are encouraged to attend and will be honored during the game.

"We're participating in our annual Kay Yow Play 4Kay breast cancer awareness game," said Carson-Newman head coach Mike Mincey. "Hope for a good turnout from out student body and faculty and staff."

Carson-Newman will hold one dollar and five-dollar raffles with prizes available for fans. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2 million to support women's cancer research. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is the official charity of the initiative.

Also on Wednesday, the Lady Eagles will welcome girls from "Girls, Inc." in Morristown to the game as Carson-Newman players will connect with these girls before the game and throughout the night at Holt Fieldhouse. Girls, Inc., is a non-profit organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through life changing programs and experiences.

The Lady Eagles will wear pink shoelaces and socks during their game against Mars Hill, and the coaching staff will be dressed in pink as well.
