Fishing heads to Alabama for Pickwick Slam

LAKE PICKWICK, Ala. - A week after having their first two national qualifying pairs, fishing heads to Alabama for the 2021 ACA Pickwick Slam on Apr. 10-11. 

This is the 11th straight Pickwick Slam event. This event features double points toward the coveted Bass Pro Shops School of Year title presented by Abu Garcia. Carson-Newman sits in fourth place in the nation with 10,435 points.

Last time on the water for the Eagles, the pair of Caz Anderson and Lee Rose Koza qualified for the national championship with a top-10 finish on Lake Chickamauga. The pair reeled in five fish for a whopping 18 pounds, two ounces to shoot up 11 spots and finish the event ninth with an overall haul of 10 fish for 31 pounds, 15 ounces.

Aidan England and Braden Perry also qualified for the national championships, reeling in five fish for 15 pounds, three ounces, ending the event at 14th overall with 10 fish for 28 pounds, 15 ounces.

The team reeled in 36 total fish for 93 pounds, two ounces in Dayton, Tenn.

Following the trip to Alabama, the club will remain in the Yellowhammer State, competing in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops on Smith Lake on Apr. 16-17.
