Reigning SAC Player of the Year Davis to participate in conference's digital media day

ROCK HILL, S.C. – In advance of the upcoming 2013-14 basketball season, the SAC will hold its Basketball Digital Media Day on Friday, Nov. 1, offering media and fans an exclusive opportunity to interact live with select coaches and student-athletes from across the conference.  Carson-Newman's Antoine Davis will be available for questions 10:35-10:50 a.m.

Access to SAC Basketball Digital Media Day is open to any interested participants.  Coaches and student-athletes will answer questions live at www.theSAC.com for 15 minutes apiece from 10:00 through 11:35 a.m.  Additionally, SAC commissioner Patrick Britz will join the conversation as the event's final session.  Questions will also be accepted via Twitter, using the hashtag #SAChoops.

SAC Basketball Digital Media Day follows the release of the 2013-14 SAC preseason polls and All-Conference teams, which were announced earlier this week at available at www.theSAC.com.

The following coaches and student-athletes are tentatively scheduled to participate in SAC Basketball Digital Media Day:

Josh Schertz, Lincoln Memorial men's head coach
Schertz led Lincoln Memorial to the SAC regular season title and an NCAA Tournament selection in 2012-13.  His 2013-14 team has been ranked No. 13 in the DII Bulletin preseason poll.

Brian Good, Wingate men's head coach
Good's 2012-13 Wingate team finished second in the SAC standings and won the Food Lion SAC Basketball Championship title, earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Antoine Davis, Carson-Newman student-athlete
Davis was named the 2012-13 SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year and an All-American after averaging 18.7 points and six rebounds per game.  He is also a member of the 2013-14 DII Bulletin preseason All-America Team.

Jimmy Garrity, Anderson women's head coach
Garrity comes to Anderson from his position as an assistant coach at Clemson.  He inherits a program that won both the SAC regular-season and tournament titles in 2012-13.

Sean Page, Newberry women's head coach
Page and his Newberry team enter 2013-14 with high expectations after a 20-win campaign last year and the return of two All-SAC selections, including All-American Haylee Lepaio.

Jazmine Charles, Lenoir-Rhyne student-athlete
Charles was an All-SAC First Team pick in 2012-13 after averaging 11.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  She led her Lenoir-Rhyne squad to a second-place SAC finish and a selection to the NCAA Tournament.
