JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman's men's basketball team has jumped three spots to move to sixth in that latest edition of the Southeast Region rankings.
This is the second straight week the Eagles have appeared in the regional rankings – the first two time's that Benson-coached teams have been regionally ranked.
The top five teams in the ranking remained the same, while Georgia Southwestern dropped one spot to seventh and Newberry moved up from 10th to ninth. Mount Olive fell from seventh to eighth and Barton moved into the rankings at 10th while Limestone fell out of the top 10.
The Eagles take on regional no. 2 Lincoln Memorial Wednesday night at 8.
The Southeast region is comprised of the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas. The three tournament champions of those leagues and the top five at-large teams following the conference tournaments qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament in mid-March.
