Hay Finishes Tied for 10th, Eagles 15th in Golfweek Spring Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. — Carson-Newman freshman Gavin Hay (Glasgow, Scotland) carded a 5-over-par 77 on Tuesday to earn his first career top-10 finish in the Golfweek Spring Invitational at the Reunion Resort Independence Course.

Hay finished the tournament in a tie for 10th place with three-day total of 220 (+4).

As a team, the Eagles claimed 15th place after turning in a third-round score of 314 (+26) to give them a three-round total of 933 (+69).

Sophomore Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) shot an 82 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 62nd place. Adam Holt (Liverpool, England) and Chase Conn (Mason, Ohio) shot 79 and 76, respectively. Holt finished the tournament in a tie for 76th place, while Conn tied for 83rd place. John Minor Jr. (Dandridge, Tenn.) turned in a final round 84 for the Eagles.

Nova Southeastern won the team title after shooting a 289 (+1) on Tuesday to finish the event with a three-round total of 878 (+14).

Lander’s Roberto Nasalli-Rocca fired a 4-under-par 68 in the final round to claim medalist honors.

The Eagles return to the course on March 1 in the 19th Annual Richard Rendleman Tournament at the Salisbury Country Club in Salisbury, N.C.
