Young completes Eagles’ first day at Winter Nationals

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Carson-Newman senior swimmer Ben Young (Morristown, Tenn.) completed the Eagles' first day at the 2014 AT&T Winter National Championships at Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

The Morristown-native swam the 50 Free in 20.99, placing him in 87th-place in a field full of the best American swimmers.

"Unfortunately, the first swim had a missed turn," coach Paige McCord said. "We are looking forward to the next swim, along with possibly time trialing the 50 again tomorrow."

The meet continues Friday morning as sophomore Kent Eldreth (Knoxville, Tenn.) will compete in the 100 Breaststroke.
